Hunts

For 2011, we are booking only twelve hunters for the Rut and Post-Rut archery-only season from November 1–December 5. For First Shotgun season, Second Shotgun season and Late Muzzleloader season we we will book a total of 8 hunters. Limiting the number of hunters and harvested bucks ensures that we are able to offer one of the best whitetail hunting experiences in available in Iowa. Iowa’s Archery season opens October 1 and we are offering discounted hunts from October 1–October 31. Call for more information. See our pricing schedule below and feel free to contact us with any questions or to reserve a hunt. All hunts are limited to four hunters per party and each party will have exclusive rights on the 800-acre property. All hunts include lodging in our on-site cabin.

Whitetail Challenge

Doe Management and Community Involvement

Culling is an issue that must be dealt with by every landowner that is striving to maintain a superior Whitetail herd. To assist with culling, the process of balancing the doe to buck ratio in the herd, Ron Mason formed the North Branch Wildlife Foundation. The foundation serves as a non-profit organization that hosts the “Whitetail Challenge” each year.

The Challenge is an annual event that is dedicated to “youth and disabled hunters to experience Iowa’s prime hunting environment.” Each year, youth and disabled hunters are invited to come to the North Branch land and are guided by volunteers on a hunt with the goal of harvesting a doe. Now five years into this program, the foundation has partnered with the Department of Natural Resources, the Quality Deer Management Association and the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Iowa to gather the appropriate resources and equipment to host youth and disabled hunters of any age or ability.
